Who we are
Senior Safety Checks is a service of Big Solutions LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company doing business as Senior Safety Checks (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
We collect the information needed to run daily check-ins: your name, email, and (optionally) mobile number; your loved one's name, phone number, timezone, and check-in schedule; emergency-contact names and contact details; and the text of check-in replies.
What we do not collect
We do not track anyone's location — there is no GPS, no device, and no app. We are not a medical service and do not ask for medical information. Note, however, that check-in replies are free text and are stored exactly as sent; if a person chooses to write something about how they feel, that text is stored with the rest of their check-in history.
How we use it
Solely to deliver the service: sending check-ins, recording replies, running escalation, and showing history on your dashboard. We use service providers to operate the service: Twilio (SMS/voice), Resend (email), Stripe (payments), PostHog (product analytics), Railway (hosting/database), and GitHub (encrypted-at-rest infrastructure backups). We never sell your data.
Text messaging (SMS) and your mobile information
We collect mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in and consent records solely to deliver the Senior Safety Checks check-in service you or your family set up. No mobile information — including phone numbers and SMS opt-in and consent data — is sold, and it is never shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We share phone numbers only with our messaging provider (Twilio) and our voice and email providers, strictly to send and receive the check-in texts, reminders, escalation calls, and alerts that make up the service. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. Message recipients can reply STOP to any text to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
Cookies & analytics
We use a strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. We also use PostHog to understand how the product is used (for example, which pages are visited and where signups drop off); this may set analytics cookies or use similar identifiers. We do not use third-party advertising cookies today. If we run advertising campaigns in the future, Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google advertising cookies or similar identifiers may be used on this site to measure whether our ads work; you can opt out via Meta's Ad Preferences and Google's Ads Settings. We do not sell analytics data.
Retention
Check-in history is retained for 1 year, then automatically deleted. If you delete your account, all data is permanently purged after a 30-day grace period.
Your rights (including CCPA)
You can export your check-in history as CSV from the dashboard at any time, and delete your account from Settings. California residents may additionally request access to or deletion of their personal information by emailing support@seniorsafetychecks.com.
People enrolled by someone else
Our subscribers enroll a loved one (the person who receives check-ins) and their emergency contacts. Those people may not have visited this site themselves. If you receive messages from us and want your information accessed, corrected, or deleted — or want to stop receiving messages — reply STOP to any text or email support@seniorsafetychecks.com and we will honor the request.
